Possible Causes
Obstructed blower wheel, Failed blower motor, Loose blower wheel on motor shaft, Damaged fan speed sensor (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Internal fans can start unexpectedly if power is present.
- 1. Access blower housing: Remove the rear or front lower panel to reach the blower housing and fan wheel.
- 2. Inspect for obstructions: Check for lint clumps, fabric pieces, or foreign objects inside the blower housing. Remove any obstructions.
- 3. Check blower wheel: Spin the blower wheel by hand. It should rotate freely without wobble. If loose on the shaft or cracked, replace the blower wheel.
- 4. Test blower motor: With the dryer unplugged, test the blower motor windings for continuity. If open or shorted, replace the motor.
- 5. Reassemble and test: After clearing obstructions and replacing any faulty parts, reassemble the housing, restore power, and run a test cycle to confirm E18 is cleared.
