Possible Causes
Lint and moisture buildup in drum and ducts, Dirty condenser (condensing models), Wet clothes left in drum, Poor laundry room ventilation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before deep cleaning internal components.
- 1. Run cleaning cycle: Run the dryer empty on a high-heat cycle for 30 minutes to help dry out internal moisture.
- 2. Clean drum: Wipe the drum interior with a cloth dampened with mild detergent and water. Dry thoroughly.
- 3. Clean lint system: Remove lint filter and clean. Access and clean internal ducts and blower housing to remove damp lint.
- 4. Condenser cleaning (if applicable): On condensing models, remove and rinse the condenser/heat exchanger under running water to remove lint and residue.
- 5. Improve ventilation: Ensure the laundry area is well ventilated and not excessively humid. Avoid leaving wet clothes in the drum for long periods.
