Frigidaire dryer will not start and displays dE (door error).

Safety First: Unplug the dryer before working on the door or switch.

• Check door closure:
  • Ensure the door closes fully and latches securely.
  • Inspect the door strike for bending or damage; adjust or replace if misaligned.
• Test door switch:
  • Locate the door switch behind the front panel near the door opening.
  • With the dryer unplugged, remove the switch and test for continuity with a multimeter.
  • The switch should show continuity when the button is pressed (door closed) and open when released.
• Inspect wiring:
  • Check the harness from the door switch to the main control board for breaks or loose connectors.
• Replace faulty parts:
  • Install a new door switch or latch assembly if defective.
