Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the dryer before inspecting internal components. Turn off gas supply for gas models.
- Check and clean lint filter:
- Remove the lint screen and clean thoroughly.
- Wash with warm soapy water if coated with fabric softener residue; dry completely before reinstalling.
- Inspect exhaust venting:
- Pull the dryer away from the wall.
- Disconnect the vent hose from the dryer and the wall.
- Use a vent brush or vacuum to remove lint buildup from the hose and wall duct.
- Ensure the outside vent hood opens freely and is not blocked by lint, nests, or debris.
- Test run with vent disconnected:
- Temporarily run the dryer for 5–10 minutes with the vent hose disconnected (exhausting into a well-ventilated area).
- If E13 does not return, the house vent is restricted and must be cleaned or shortened.
- Check exhaust thermistor (if accessible):
- Locate the thermistor on the blower housing.
- Disconnect its wires and measure resistance at room temperature; compare to Frigidaire specs (commonly around 10kΩ at 77°F, but verify for your model).
- Replace if reading is open, shorted, or far out of range.
If airflow is good and the thermistor tests correctly, the main control board may be misreading the sensor and require replacement.
