Frigidaire dryer shows EF2 and may stop or run erratically; sometimes associated with moisture sensor issues.

Safety First: Unplug the dryer before working inside the drum or accessing wiring.

• Clean moisture sensor bars:
  • Locate the two metal bars inside the drum near the lint filter opening.
  • Clean them thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth to remove dryer sheet residue.
• Inspect wiring:
  • Access the backside of the moisture sensor (usually behind the front panel).
  • Check for pinched, broken, or shorted wires.
  • Ensure connectors are firmly seated.
• Test sensor:
  • Disconnect the sensor wires and check for continuity across the bars when bridged with a damp cloth; there should be a measurable resistance.
• Replace sensor or control:
  • If the sensor is damaged or wiring is shorted, replace the moisture sensor assembly.
  • If sensor and wiring are good but EF2 persists, the main control board may need replacement.
