How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the dryer before accessing the motor or control board.
- Check drum movement:
- Open the door and try to rotate the drum by hand; it should turn smoothly with some resistance from the belt.
- If the drum is hard to turn, check for jammed objects or seized drum rollers.
- Inspect motor and wiring:
- Remove the front or rear panel to access the motor.
- Check the motor harness connector for secure fit and signs of overheating.
- Test motor windings:
- Disconnect motor wires.
- Measure resistance across the run and start windings; compare to Frigidaire specs.
- Replace the motor if windings are open or shorted.
- Check motor relay:
- Inspect the main control board for a burnt or stuck motor relay.
- If the relay is defective, replace the control board.
