Possible Causes
Control lock (child lock) enabled, Failed Start button on UI, Loose ribbon cable to UI, Faulty main control board not responding to input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the dryer before removing the console or control panel.
- Check control lock:
- Look for a control lock icon on the display.
- Press and hold the designated key combination (often "Options" and "Select" or similar) for 3–5 seconds to toggle control lock off (see user manual).
- Try different cycles:
- Select a different cycle and press Start to rule out a specific cycle issue.
- Inspect UI connections:
- Remove the top panel and console.
- Check the ribbon cable and connectors between the UI and main control board.
- Test Start button:
- On some models, you can test the Start button contacts with a multimeter; replace the UI board if the switch is open when pressed.
