Safety First: Unplug the dryer. For gas models, shut off the gas supply at the shutoff valve.

• Verify power or gas:
  • For electric: Confirm 240V at the outlet and that both breakers are on.
  • For gas: Ensure gas supply valve is open.
• Check thermal limiter / fuse:
  • Access the blower housing or heater housing (rear or front panel removal required).
  • Locate the thermal limiter/thermal fuse and test for continuity; replace if open.
• Electric models – test heater and thermostats:
  • Test the heating element for continuity; replace if open or grounded to the housing.
  • Test high-limit and cycling thermostats for continuity; replace any open components.
• Gas models – observe ignition:
  • With panels in place and dryer reassembled, restore power and gas.
  • Start a heat cycle and watch through the burner view port.
  • If the igniter does not glow, test and replace the igniter.
  • If the igniter glows but no flame appears or flame drops out quickly, replace the gas valve coils.
• Clean airflow path:
  • Clean lint filter, lint housing, blower housing, and exhaust vent to prevent repeat overheating and fuse failure.
