Dirty or coated moisture sensor bars, Broken moisture sensor wiring, Failed moisture sensor assembly, Faulty main control board moisture sensing circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the dryer before accessing wiring.
- Clean sensor bars:
- Locate the metal moisture sensor bars inside the drum.
- Clean thoroughly with rubbing alcohol and a non-abrasive pad.
- Avoid dryer sheets:
- Reduce or eliminate dryer sheet use, which can coat the sensors.
- Inspect wiring:
- Access the back of the sensor assembly (usually behind the front panel).
- Check for loose or broken wires.
- Test sensor:
- With the dryer unplugged, disconnect the sensor and test continuity when bridging the bars with a damp cloth.
- Replace the sensor assembly if it does not respond.
