Possible Causes
Failed gas valve coil set, Restricted burner orifice, Low gas pressure, Faulty flame sensor (less common)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the dryer and shut off gas before removing any burner components.
- Visual ignition test:
- Restore power and gas temporarily.
- Start a heat cycle and watch the burner through the view port.
- If the igniter glows bright orange and then shuts off without flame, the coils are likely weak.
- Replace gas valve coils:
- Disconnect power and gas again.
- Remove the front panel and drum if necessary to access the burner assembly.
- Remove the mounting bracket on top of the gas valve coils.
- Lift off the old coils and install new OEM Frigidaire coils in the same orientation.
- Inspect burner and orifice:
- Check for lint or debris around the burner tube and orifice; clean carefully.
- Reassemble and test:
- Restore gas and power.
- Run a timed dry cycle and confirm consistent flame ignition and heating.
