Possible Causes
Clogged lint filter, Blocked condenser unit, Obstructed exhaust air duct inside dryer, Failed blower fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before internal cleaning.
- Clean lint filter: Remove the lint filter from the door area and clean thoroughly with warm water and mild detergent if coated with fabric softener residue. Dry completely before reinstalling.
- Clean condenser (for condenser/heat pump models): Open the condenser access door at the bottom front. Remove the condenser unit (if user-removable) and rinse with warm water from the rear side until water runs clear. Allow to drain and dry, then reinstall.
- Inspect internal ducts: Remove the front or rear panel to access internal air channels. Vacuum lint from the blower housing, ducts, and around the heater or heat pump module.
- Check blower fan: Spin the blower wheel by hand; it should rotate freely without wobble. If seized, broken, or noisy, replace the blower wheel and/or blower motor.
- Reset and test: After cleaning, restore power and run a timed warm cycle. If E04 persists, the temperature sensor or control board may be misreading temperature and should be tested by a technician.
