Possible Causes
Failed drum motor tachometer, Loose or broken motor tach wiring, Defective drive motor, Faulty motor control circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels.
- Check drum rotation: Turn the drum by hand. If it is stiff or jammed, inspect for foreign objects between drum and front seal or rear bearing.
- Access motor assembly: Remove the rear or side panel to expose the drive motor. Inspect the tachometer sensor (often integrated on the motor) and its wiring harness.
- Inspect wiring and connector: Ensure the tachometer connector is firmly seated on the motor and at the control board. Look for broken wires or chafing.
- Test motor windings and tach: Use a multimeter to check motor winding resistance and tachometer output (if specs are available). Replace the motor if readings are out of range or if the tach is open.
- Control board: If motor and wiring are good but E06 persists, the motor control circuit on the main PCB may be faulty. Board replacement is typically required and should be done by a qualified technician.
