Possible Causes
Leaking condensate hose, Cracked condensate pump housing, Loose internal hose connection, Activated base tray float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.
- Check for visible leaks: Look around and under the dryer for water. If the unit is built-in, carefully pull it out.
- Access base tray: Remove the lower front panel or rear panel to inspect the base tray. If water is present, carefully soak it up with towels or a sponge.
- Inspect float switch: Verify that the float switch moves freely and is not stuck in the raised (alarm) position. Clean any lint or debris.
- Trace hoses: Follow the condensate hoses from the drum/condenser to the pump and out to the tank or drain. Tighten any loose clamps and replace cracked hoses.
- Check pump housing: Inspect the condensate pump body for cracks or leaks during operation (you may need to briefly power the unit while observing, using extreme caution).
- After repair: Dry the base completely, reset the float switch, reassemble, and test. If E13 recurs without visible leaks, the float switch or control board input may be faulty.
