Possible Causes
Flat-spotted drum rollers, Worn front drum glides, Loose items in drum baffles, Unbalanced loads
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer.
Step-by-step checks:
- Check for loose items: Inspect inside the drum and baffles for coins, buttons, or other objects.
- Run empty test: Run the dryer empty. If thumping persists, suspect support components.
- Inspect rollers and glides: Remove the front panel and drum. Inspect rear drum rollers for flat spots and front drum glides for wear through the Teflon pads.
- Replace worn parts: Replace any flat-spotted rollers and worn glides with OEM parts.
Note: Some minor thumping at the start of a cycle can be normal with large loads, but continuous loud banging indicates a mechanical issue.
