Dryer runs but the drum light stays on even when the door is closed.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer.

Step-by-step checks:

• Door strike: Inspect the door strike on the door for bending or damage. Replace if it does not fully engage the switch.
• Door switch: Access the door switch behind the front panel. Ensure it is firmly mounted and the actuator moves freely.
• Continuity test: Test the switch with a multimeter. It should close (show continuity) when the door is closed. Replace if it fails.

Note: A faulty door switch can also prevent the dryer from starting.
