GE dryer shows E11 and may not start or may shut off when the door is closed.

Safety first: Disconnect power before servicing.

Inspect door components:

• Check the door strike on the door; ensure it is not broken or bent. Replace if damaged.
• Open the door and locate the door switch. Press it manually; listen for a click.
• Remove the front panel or top panel to access the switch body.
• Disconnect the switch and test for continuity when pressed. Replace if it does not change state.
• Inspect the wiring harness from the switch to the main control board for damage or loose connections.
• Reassemble and test.

If the door switch and wiring are good but E11 remains, the main control board may need replacement.
