Possible Causes
Dirty or coated moisture sensor bars, Broken moisture sensor wiring, Failed moisture sensor, Faulty main control moisture circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working inside the drum or control area.
Clean moisture sensor bars:
- Locate the two metal sensor bars inside the drum, usually on the front bulkhead just inside the door opening.
- Use a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol or mild abrasive pad (like a Scotch-Brite) to scrub off any dryer sheet residue or film.
- Do not use oil-based cleaners.
Check wiring and sensor:
- Access the back of the sensor bars from behind the front panel or lower access panel.
- Ensure the wires are firmly attached and not broken.
- Test continuity through each bar and its wire; repair or replace if open.
- If wiring and bars are good but E14 persists, the main control board may not be reading the sensor correctly and may need replacement.
