Possible Causes

Clogged lint filter, Blocked exhaust vent or wall cap, Crushed or kinked vent hose, Heavy lint buildup in internal ducts

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before disconnecting the vent.

Restore proper airflow:

  • Remove and thoroughly clean the lint filter with warm water and a soft brush if coated with fabric softener residue. Dry completely.
  • Pull the dryer away from the wall and disconnect the vent hose.
  • Inspect the vent hose for lint buildup, kinks, or crushing; clean or replace as needed.
  • Check the wall or roof vent cap for lint blockage or stuck flapper; clean and ensure it opens freely.
  • Use a vent brush or vacuum to clean as far as possible into the wall duct.
  • With the vent disconnected, briefly run the dryer (no heat test) to confirm strong airflow from the exhaust outlet.
  • Reconnect the vent with smooth, short runs and minimal bends.

After restoring airflow, clear the error (if applicable) and run a test cycle.
