Possible Causes
Defective push-to-start switch, Open motor run winding, Faulty motor centrifugal switch, Failed motor relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer.
Check push-to-start switch:
- Access the console and locate the start switch.
- Test the switch for continuity when pressed; replace if intermittent or open.
Check motor circuit:
- If the start switch is good, the motor may not be latching due to a bad centrifugal switch or open run winding; replace the drive motor.
- On electronic models with a motor relay, test and replace the relay or main control board if it does not hold the motor on.
