How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer.

Clean moisture sensors:

  • Clean the metal moisture sensor bars inside the drum with rubbing alcohol.

Check thermostats and timer:

  • Test the cycling thermostat for proper operation; replace if out of spec.
  • On mechanical-timer models, test the timer motor for continuity and operation; replace the timer if defective.
  • On electronic models, if sensors and thermostats are good, the main control board may be failing to advance the cycle and may need replacement.
