Possible Causes
Failed timer motor (mechanical models), Open timer contacts, Faulty main control board (electronic models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer.
Mechanical timer models:
- Access the timer in the control console.
- Listen for timer motor operation during a cycle; if silent and not advancing, test for voltage at the timer motor terminals.
- If voltage is present but the motor does not run, replace the timer.
Electronic models:
- If the display counts down but the dryer keeps running, or if time does not count down at all, the main control board may be defective and require replacement.
