Possible Causes
Tripped breaker or blown fuse, Faulty door switch, Defective start switch or start button, Failed main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Before opening the dryer, turn off the breaker and unplug it.
Check basic power:
- Verify the dryer is plugged in and the outlet has power (test with another appliance or a meter).
- Reset the house breaker or replace blown fuses.
Check door and start circuits:
- Ensure the door closes fully and the latch engages.
- Test the door switch for continuity when closed; replace if faulty.
- On mechanical-timer models, test the push-to-start switch for continuity when pressed.
- On electronic models, if the UI lights but Start does nothing and door switch is good, the main control board or UI board may be defective and require replacement.
