Possible Causes

Door not fully closed, Faulty door switch, Child lock function activated, Defective start button or control panel

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or door switch.

  • Check door and display: Ensure the door is firmly closed. Look for a door-closed icon on the display. If a key or lock symbol is shown, the child lock is active.
  • Disable child lock: On many Grundig dryers, press and hold the designated button combination (often two buttons with a lock symbol) for several seconds to deactivate child lock. Refer to the user manual for your model.
  • Test door switch: Listen for a click when closing the door. If absent, access the door switch and test for continuity when actuated. Replace if faulty.
  • Check start button: Remove the control panel and inspect the start/pause button switch on the PCB. Test with a multimeter; replace the switch or panel if it does not make contact.
  • Reassemble and test: Reconnect power and attempt to start a cycle again.
