Dryer will not start at all; no lights or display, completely dead

Safety first: Ensure the circuit breaker is off before inspecting the power connection. Only qualified persons should work on live circuits.

• Check outlet and breaker: Test the wall socket with another appliance. Reset any tripped breaker or replace a blown fuse in the consumer unit.
• Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks on the cord and plug. Replace if damaged.
• Check internal fuse (if fitted): Some Grundig dryers have an internal fuse on the mains filter or PCB. With power disconnected, access the filter and check/replace the fuse if blown.
• Inspect mains filter and PCB: Look for burnt components or smell of burning. If present, the mains filter or PCB must be replaced.
• Professional repair: If the dryer remains dead after these checks, the main control board power supply is likely faulty and should be replaced by a technician.
