Possible Causes
Defective door interlock switch, Broken or misaligned door hook, Damaged door lock wiring harness, Faulty main control board (PCB)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer from the mains before removing any panels. Do not bypass the door lock for testing while the machine is powered.
- Check door closure: Open and close the door firmly. Ensure no laundry is trapped in the door seal and that the door latches with a solid click.
- Inspect the door hook: Examine the plastic/metal door hook on the door of your Grundig dryer. If it is cracked, loose, or worn, it may not engage the door interlock. Replace the door hook if damaged.
- Test the door interlock switch: Remove the front panel or door trim (depending on model) to access the door lock assembly. Disconnect the wiring connector. Using a multimeter set to continuity, check the switch terminals while manually engaging the lock. If there is no continuity when engaged, replace the door lock assembly.
- Check wiring: Inspect the wiring harness from the door lock to the main control board for broken wires, loose connectors, or signs of burning. Reseat all connectors firmly.
- Reset power: After any checks or replacements, reconnect power and try starting a short program. If E01 persists and the door lock and wiring are confirmed good, the main PCB may be faulty and should be diagnosed by a qualified technician.
