Possible Causes
Blocked water level sensor in sump, Clogged drain pump or hose, Failed drain pump motor, Faulty water level float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and be prepared for water spillage when opening the sump or hoses.
- Empty water tank: Remove and empty the condensate water tank completely. Clean the tank and ensure the float inside (if present) moves freely.
- Clean pump filter and sump: Access the pump area (usually behind the lower front panel or rear panel). Remove any filter or cover and clear lint, fluff, or debris from the sump and pump inlet.
- Check drain hose: Inspect the internal hose from the sump to the water tank for kinks or blockages. Flush with warm water if necessary.
- Test pump operation: With the dryer reassembled but still empty of laundry, reconnect power and start a cycle. Listen for the pump running when water should be transferred. If silent or just humming, the pump motor may be faulty and require replacement.
- Inspect float switch / sensor: If accessible, check the float switch or electronic level sensor in the sump for free movement and clean contacts. Replace if stuck or damaged.
