Possible Causes
Failed circulation fan motor, Obstructed fan impeller, Loose fan wiring connector, Fan motor capacitor fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from mains before removing side or rear panels. Beware of sharp metal edges.
- Access fan assembly: Remove the rear or side panel (depending on model) to locate the main blower/fan housing.
- Check for obstructions: Inspect the fan impeller for lint build-up, foreign objects, or damage. Clean thoroughly and remove any obstructions.
- Test fan rotation: Spin the fan by hand; it should rotate freely without scraping. If stiff or noisy, the motor bearings may be worn and the motor should be replaced.
- Inspect wiring and capacitor: Check the fan motor wiring connector and any associated capacitor for secure fit and signs of overheating. Replace the capacitor if bulging or leaking.
- Reassemble and test: Refit panels, reconnect power, and run a warm cycle. If E09 returns and the fan does not run, the fan motor or its control circuit on the PCB is likely defective and may need replacement.
