Possible Causes
Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Damaged motor harness, Failed drive motor, Defective main control board speed sensing circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing the motor or control board.
- Check drum movement: Rotate the drum by hand to ensure it is not mechanically jammed. If it is stuck, inspect rollers, belt, and idler pulley.
- Access motor: Remove the front panel and drum (if required) to access the drive motor. Inspect the motor connector and wiring harness for damage or loose connections.
- Inspect tachometer wiring: Many Haier motors have an integrated tachometer (speed sensor). Ensure the small sensor wires are intact and firmly connected.
- Test motor windings: Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the motor windings. Compare with service manual specs. Replace the motor if windings are open or shorted.
- Check for board issues: If the motor and wiring are good, the main control board may not be reading the tach signal correctly. Replacement of the board may be required.
