Moisture Sensor Circuit Error
Haier dryer displays EC and stops mid-cycle, often on sensor-dry programs

Possible Causes
Dirty or coated moisture sensor bars, Broken or disconnected moisture sensor wires, Failed moisture sensor, Faulty main control board sensor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing internal wiring. Cleaning the sensor bars can be done with power off and door open.
- Clean sensor bars: Locate the two metal moisture sensor bars inside the drum, usually near the lint filter housing. Clean them thoroughly with a soft cloth and a bit of white vinegar or rubbing alcohol to remove fabric softener residue. Dry completely.
- Check for physical damage: Ensure the bars are not cracked, bent, or loose. Replace if damaged.
- Inspect wiring: Access the area behind the sensor bars (front panel removal may be required). Check that the sensor wires are firmly connected and not broken.
- Test sensor continuity: Use a multimeter to check continuity through the sensor circuit when bridging the bars with a damp cloth. If no change is detected, the sensor or wiring may be faulty and should be replaced.
- Control board diagnosis: If the sensor and wiring are good but EC persists, the main control board may not be reading the sensor correctly and may need replacement.
