Possible Causes

Shorted or open exhaust thermistor, Thermistor wiring short to chassis, Incorrect replacement sensor installed, Faulty control board reading

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the rear panel and wiring.

  • Locate exhaust thermistor: Remove the rear panel to find the thermistor mounted on the exhaust duct.
  • Inspect wiring: Check for pinched, frayed, or melted wires leading to the thermistor. Repair any damage and secure the harness away from hot surfaces.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the thermistor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare to the Haier specification. A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a bad sensor.
  • Replace thermistor: If out of spec, install a new Haier exhaust thermistor with the correct part number.
  • Control board check: If a known-good thermistor and wiring are present but F3 remains, the main control board may be faulty and require replacement.
