Possible Causes
Seized drum roller or idler pulley, Foreign object jammed in drum or blower, Worn or jammed drive motor, Overloaded drum with heavy items
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before inspecting internal moving parts.
- Reduce load: Remove some items from the drum and try running a smaller load. Overloading can trigger LE.
- Check for obstructions: Open the door and inspect the drum edges for trapped clothing or objects. Remove any obstructions.
- Spin drum by hand: With the dryer off, rotate the drum. If it is hard to turn or makes grinding noises, remove the front panel and inspect the belt, idler pulley, and drum rollers.
- Inspect blower wheel: Access the blower housing and check for socks or debris jamming the wheel. Clear any blockages.
- Motor check: If all rotating parts move freely but LE persists, the drive motor may be failing and should be tested and replaced if necessary.
