Possible Causes

Open or shorted temperature sensor, Wrong sensor type installed, Damaged sensor harness, Faulty control board ADC circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before working on sensors or wiring.

  • Identify sensor: On some Haier models, tE refers to a general temperature sensor fault (drum or exhaust). Locate all NTC sensors on the heater/exhaust duct and drum inlet.
  • Check connectors: Ensure each sensor connector is fully seated and free of corrosion.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect each sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to the service manual values. Replace any sensor that is open, shorted, or far out of range.
  • Inspect harness: Look for pinched or broken wires between sensors and the control board. Repair as needed.
  • Control board diagnosis: If all sensors and wiring are good, the control board may be misreading temperature and should be replaced.
