Possible Causes
Dry or worn idler pulley bearing, Worn drum rollers, Misaligned belt rubbing on metal edges
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains before opening panels.
- Localize the noise: Run the dryer briefly and listen from front, side, and rear (do not remove panels while energized). Then unplug and open the relevant side.
- Inspect idler pulley: Access the belt tensioner/idler pulley. Spin it by hand; if it squeaks or feels rough, replace it.
- Check drum rollers: Spin each roller. Replace any that squeal or have play.
- Inspect belt path: Ensure the belt is correctly routed and not rubbing against sharp edges.
Lubrication is generally not recommended on sealed bearings; replace worn components with new parts.
