Possible Causes
Defective door switch, Broken door latch hook, Loose wiring to door lock, Misaligned door strike
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer from the mains before removing any panels. Do not bypass the door switch for testing while the machine is energized.
Step-by-step checks:
- Inspect the door: Open and close the door firmly. Check that the door closes flush and that the latch hook engages the cabinet catch properly.
- Check the door hook and strike: Look for cracks or wear on the plastic/metal door hook and the cabinet strike. If damaged, replace the door hook assembly specific to your Hansa dryer model.
- Test the door switch: Remove the top cover (usually 2–3 screws at the back, slide back and lift). Access the door switch from the front panel area. Disconnect the switch connector and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing the switch. It should show continuity only when pressed.
- Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the door switch to the main control module (PCB) for loose connectors, burnt pins, or broken wires. Reseat all connectors firmly.
- Reassemble and test: Refit covers, plug the dryer back in, close the door firmly, and try to start a short program.
If E01 persists after replacing a faulty switch or latch, the main control board may be defective and should be diagnosed by a qualified technician.
