Possible Causes
Blocked air channels, Failed blower (fan) motor, Broken fan impeller, Obstructed fan housing with lint
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains before removing side or rear panels.
- Clean filters and condenser: Ensure the lint filter and condenser are completely clean to reduce load on the fan.
- Access the fan housing: Remove the rear or side panel (depending on model) to locate the blower motor and plastic impeller.
- Inspect for obstructions: Remove lint, fabric pieces, or foreign objects from the fan housing and ducts.
- Check fan impeller and motor: Spin the impeller by hand; it should rotate freely without wobble. If the shaft is loose or the motor is seized, the blower motor assembly must be replaced.
After cleaning and reassembly, test the dryer. Persistent E12 usually indicates a failing fan motor that needs replacement.
