Possible Causes
Poor grounding of drum, Worn carbon brushes on drum grounding, Broken ground strap, Faulty sensor electronics
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing internal components.
- Check earth/ground connection: Verify that the power outlet has a proper earth connection. Inspect the dryer power cord and internal earth wire from terminal block to chassis.
- Inspect drum grounding: Some Hansa dryers use a grounding brush or strap contacting the drum. Access the side or rear panel and locate this component. Ensure it is pressing firmly on the drum and not excessively worn.
- Clean contact area: Lightly clean the drum surface where the brush contacts to remove oxidation or residue.
If grounding components are damaged, replace the drum grounding brush or strap. Persistent E16 may indicate a fault in the sensor circuit on the main PCB.
