Dryer displays E18, often immediately after selecting a program

Safety first: No internal work should be done with power connected.

• Cancel and reselect: Press the Cancel/Reset button (if available) or turn the program selector to Off, then reselect a basic program without extra options.
• Check selector knob: Ensure the program knob aligns exactly with a program position and is not between detents.
• Power cycle: Unplug the dryer for 5 minutes, then reconnect and try again.

If E18 persists on all programs, the selector switch or user interface board may be faulty and require replacement.
