Possible Causes
Mechanical jam in door latch, Warped door catch, Faulty door lock solenoid (if fitted), Misaligned door strike
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Do not force the door open with excessive strength to avoid damage.
- Wait for cooling: Some models keep the door locked briefly after cycle end. Wait 2–5 minutes and try again.
- Gentle pressure: Press inward on the door while lifting the handle to relieve pressure on the latch.
- Access latch from top: Remove the top panel and reach down to the door lock area. Manually move the latch mechanism to release the door.
- Inspect and replace latch: Once open, examine the latch and strike for damage or warping. Replace the door lock assembly or strike if worn.
