Possible Causes
Broken or slipped drive belt, Seized drum support roller, Seized idler pulley, Foreign object jammed between drum and cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before opening any panels.
- Try rotating drum by hand: Open the door and spin the drum. If it is very stiff or jammed, suspect a mechanical obstruction or seized roller.
- Inspect belt and rollers: Remove the top and front panel. Check if the belt is intact and properly routed. Inspect drum rollers and idler pulley for free movement; replace worn or seized parts.
- Remove obstructions: Look for clothing, coins, or other objects caught at the front or rear drum seals. Remove carefully.
- Reassemble with a new belt if needed, ensuring correct tension. Test operation with a small load.
