Dryer produces a loud banging or thumping noise, especially with small loads.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before internal inspection.

• Check load distribution: Stop the dryer and redistribute clothes evenly. Avoid drying one or two heavy items alone.
• Inspect drum rollers and bearings: Access the rear of the drum and check rollers for flat spots or play. Replace as a set if worn.
• Check drum baffles: From inside the drum, ensure the baffles (lifters) are firmly attached. Tighten screws or replace if loose or cracked.
• If noise persists after mechanical parts are replaced, inspect the cabinet and mounting points for looseness.
