Possible Causes
Blocked airflow causing high temperature, Failing drive motor overheating, Weak motor start capacitor, Partially blocked blower wheel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and allow it to cool before inspection.
- Clean airflow system: As with airflow faults, clean lint filter, ducts, blower housing, and external vent.
- Check motor ventilation: Ensure the motor area is free of lint buildup that can trap heat.
- Test motor: If the dryer stops and the motor is very hot to the touch, the motor may be failing. Replace the motor if it repeatedly overheats under normal load.
- Inspect blower: Make sure the blower wheel is not partially blocked or slipping on the shaft.
