Possible Causes
Defective door switch, Broken door latch hook, Loose wiring to door lock assembly, Misaligned door strike
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer from the mains before opening any panels. Do not bypass the door switch for normal operation.
- Check the door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Make sure no laundry is trapped in the door seal and that the door clicks when closing.
- Inspect the door latch and strike: Look at the plastic/metal hook on the door and the strike on the cabinet. If cracked, bent, or loose, the door switch may not engage. Tighten screws and replace damaged parts.
- Test the door switch: With power disconnected, remove the top or front panel (depending on model). Locate the door switch assembly on the front panel. Disconnect the connector and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing the switch. Replace the switch if it does not change state (open/closed).
- Check wiring harness: Inspect the harness from the door switch to the main control board for loose plugs, corrosion, or damaged insulation. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Reset power: After any correction, reconnect power and try starting the dryer again. If E01 persists with a known-good switch, the main PCB may be faulty and professional service is recommended.
