Possible Causes

Open heating element, Blown thermal fuse, Faulty high-limit thermostat, Loose heater wiring connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Heating components can remain hot after use; allow the unit to cool.

  • Confirm symptom: Run a timed dry cycle and check if any warm air is coming from the exhaust. If completely cold and E03 appears, proceed.
  • Access the heater assembly: Remove the rear panel. Locate the heater housing (usually a metal canister or box with multiple wires).
  • Check thermal fuse and thermostats: Using a multimeter, test the thermal fuse and high-limit thermostat for continuity. Replace any that are open.
  • Inspect the heating element: Visually check for broken coils or burn marks. Test the element for continuity; an open circuit indicates a failed element.
  • Inspect wiring: Ensure all spade connectors are tight and free of corrosion or heat damage.
  • Clean airflow path: A blown fuse often indicates overheating. Clean the lint filter, internal ducts, and wall vent to restore proper airflow.
  • Reassemble, restore power, and test. If E03 persists with all components good, the relay or triac on the main PCB may be faulty and require professional replacement.
