Possible Causes

Blocked condensate pump, Failed condensate pump motor, Faulty water level float switch, Blocked condensate hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.

  • Empty the water tank: Remove and empty the condensate tank (if your model has one). Ensure it is seated correctly when reinstalled.
  • Clean the condenser area: Remove the condenser unit (if user-removable) and rinse it under running water. Clear any lint or debris from the housing.
  • Inspect the condensate pump: Access the bottom rear of the dryer. Locate the small pump and attached hoses. Check for kinks or blockages in the hoses and clean them.
  • Check float switch / level sensor: In the sump area, ensure the float moves freely and is not stuck by lint or scale. Clean the float chamber.
  • Test the pump: With the dryer unplugged, disconnect the pump and test its resistance. If open or shorted, replace the pump. If you can safely power the pump briefly with an external source (qualified persons only), verify operation.
  • Reassemble, restore power, and run a short cycle. If E05 persists, the level sensor circuit on the main PCB may be faulty and require professional diagnosis.
