Possible Causes

Failed heat pump compressor, Faulty compressor start relay, Defective compressor NTC sensor, Low refrigerant charge (sealed system leak)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer. The heat pump system is a sealed refrigerant circuit; only certified technicians should open it.

  • Listen for compressor operation: During a heating cycle, place your hand near the lower side panel. You should hear a low humming and feel slight vibration if the compressor is running.
  • Check airflow and filters: Ensure all air filters and condenser surfaces are clean. Restricted airflow can cause the system to shut down and trigger E08.
  • Inspect wiring to compressor: With power disconnected, remove the side or rear panel to access the compressor compartment. Check the wiring harness, start relay, and NTC sensor for secure connections and visible damage.
  • Test NTC sensor: Measure resistance and compare with specifications. Replace if out of range.
  • If the compressor does not start, is extremely noisy, or the sealed system shows signs of oil stains (indicating leaks), do not attempt sealed system repairs yourself. Contact a qualified service technician for compressor or refrigerant work.
