Possible Causes
Failed ambient NTC sensor, Sensor wiring open/short, Sensor dislodged from mounting point, Main PCB sensor circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before opening any panels.
- Check installation environment: Ensure the dryer is installed in a room within the recommended temperature range (typically 5–35°C). Extremely cold garages or very hot rooms can trigger errors.
- Locate ambient sensor: On many Hisense dryers, the ambient NTC is near the air intake or control panel area. Refer to the service diagram if available.
- Inspect and reseat: Verify the sensor is securely clipped in place and its connector is firmly attached to the harness and main PCB.
- Measure resistance: Test the sensor at room temperature and compare to specification. Replace if out of range.
- If E12 persists with a known-good sensor and proper environment, the main PCB may misread the sensor and should be checked by a technician.
