How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off and unplug the dryer before attempting to release the door. Do not force the door open with excessive strength.
- Wait a few minutes: Some Hoover dryers delay door unlocking briefly after the cycle. Wait 2–5 minutes and try again.
- Power reset: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and try to open the door.
- Manual release: On some models, a manual release tab is accessible behind the lower front panel or via the filter flap. Pull gently to release the lock.
- Inspect and replace lock: Once open, remove the front panel and inspect the door lock assembly. Replace if mechanically or electrically faulty.
