Dryer powers on but will not start when Start/Pause is pressed; beeps or flashes but does nothing

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing control or door components.

• Check door and tank: Ensure the door is firmly closed and the water tank is fully inserted. Remove and reinsert the tank.
• Disable child lock: On many Hoover dryers, holding specific buttons (e.g., Start and Option) for several seconds toggles child lock. Refer to the user manual and ensure it is off.
• Test door switch: Listen for a click when closing the door. If absent, test the door switch continuity and replace if faulty.
• Check start button: Remove the control panel and test the start button with a multimeter. Replace the button or UI PCB if it does not make contact.
