Possible Causes
Open-circuit heater element, Tripped or failed high-limit thermostat, Broken heater wiring, Faulty heater relay on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Hoover dryer and allow it to cool before accessing the heater.
- Check basic settings: Ensure you have not selected an air-only or cool cycle. Try a standard cottons cycle with high heat.
- Access heater assembly: Remove the rear panel to expose the heater housing. Visually inspect for burnt or broken heater coils and discolored connectors.
- Test heater continuity: Disconnect the heater terminals and measure resistance with a multimeter. If the reading is infinite (open circuit), replace the heater assembly.
- Check thermostats: Test continuity across thermostats on the heater housing. Replace any that are open at room temperature (unless they are manual reset types that can be reset).
- Inspect wiring and PCB: If heater and thermostats are good, inspect wiring and consider a faulty heater relay on the control board, which may require professional repair.
