Possible Causes
Defective door interlock switch, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Damaged door wiring harness at hinge area, Faulty main control PCB input for door switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Hoover dryer from the mains before removing any panels. Do not bypass safety switches for normal use.
- Check the door is fully closed: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure no clothing is trapped in the door seal or latch area.
- Inspect the door latch hook: Look at the metal or plastic hook on the door. If it is bent, cracked, or loose, the interlock may not engage. Tighten screws or replace the latch if damaged.
- Test the door switch: With power disconnected, remove the top cover (usually rear screws) and locate the door interlock assembly where the latch engages. Check the connector is fully seated. If you have a multimeter, test continuity across the switch terminals when the door is closed (or latch manually engaged). Replace the door interlock if it does not close electrically.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the wiring from the door lock to the main PCB. Look for broken, pinched, or burnt wires, especially near the door hinge and front frame. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Reset power: After checks, reconnect power and try again. If E01 persists with a known-good door lock, the main control PCB may be faulty and should be diagnosed or replaced by a qualified technician.
